Mixing contemporary art, dance, theatre and music, Abd Al Malik thrusts Le jeune noir à l’épée painted by Pierre Puvis de Chavannes (1824-1898) into our era. He creates a long poem on the question of identity in this time of globalization. Rapping, slamming and singing to black, white, mixed, ancient and modern music styles and genres which are combined in unexpected and accidental ways, he creates, against all odds, something new and harmonious.
