Who better than l’Encyclopédie de la parole to celebrate that which is most alive and most fleeting by bringing to our ears, one last time, “the inflection of dear voices that have fallen silent”?

In Suite n°4, l’Encyclopédie de la parole shares the material from its collective sound library that inspires the writing of its choral suites: recordings of the spoken word. Here, it is no longer actors giving substance to the disappeared voices, but the individuals themselves who return from the past to speak to us with their voices, their melody, their timbre and their breath. With sound design by Sébastien Roux, the words come and go from the stage in cross-fades, evoking spaces, images and emotions.

Combining the instrumental music of Pierre-Yves Macé as interpreted by the Ictus ensemble and electroacoustic music, Suite n°4 creates a kind of theater of ghosts who are very much alive, and who speak, whisper, shout, desire and regret, dance, suffer, savor, live and do not want to die.
