Lip Syncing of love stories
Delphine Bibet

26.03 > 05.04.2019
Theatre – Musical show

“Run our love through the washing machine. Boil it to see if the original colors can come back.” (A. Souchon). For her directing debut, Delphine Bibet delves into the repertoire of French song from the Sixties to today.
To these familiar and universal texts she adds extracts from A Lover’s Discourse – Fragments by Roland Barthes.

On stage, playing with the resonance between words and music, Delphine Bibet, Thierry Hellin, Catherine Mestoussis and Alexandre Trocki offer lip synching as a cure for the blues of the soul and the heart. As Roland Barthes says “Language is a skin: I rub my language against the other. It is as if I had words instead of fingers, or fingers at the tip of my words. My language trembles with desire. I enwrap the other in my words, I caress, brush against, talk up this contact, I extend myself to make the commentary to which I submit the relation endure.”
