Triptych:
The missing door, The lost room and The hidden floor

Peeping Tom

Dance

Three enclosed spaces in which bodies run riot: a man lost between life and death in a labyrinth with the doors refusing to open; a boat carrying tormented characters; and a restaurant being engulfed by rising waters. With these three short pieces created between 2013 and 2017 with the Nederlands Dans Theater (NDT1) – The missing Door, The lost room and The hidden floor – Peeping Tom offers a readaptation with a entirely new ensemble of dancers.

Between theatre and choreographic creation, the performances of Gabriela Carrizo and Franck Chartier start from an ordinary situation to evolve into something strange. Unsettled, the characters struggle in a hyperrealist and disturbing world where temporal markers are scrambled. Memories or premonition? The sets, built like movie sets, show a surprising and extreme space in which humor and fragility rub shoulders with the macabre. Beyond the absolute virtuosity of the dancers, the acrobatic contortions of which approach unreality, Triptych: The missing door, The lost room and The hidden floor offers a unique language and by way of trompe l’oeil, opens a magic dimension.
