On the death of her adoptive parents, Isabella Morandi inherits a piece of property bequeathed by her real father, a museum-like room filled with archaeological and ethnographic items, and lined with a strange cabinet of curiosities: a variety of objects collected by an amateur explorer whom she admiringly calls her “desert prince” and who, according to legend, died during one of his expeditions.
Old and blind, Isabella draws on this memorial site to conjure up the ghosts of her past, including her seventy-four lovers, and share with us, through the prism of her dynamic life, a century of world history.
The tremendous Viviane De Muynck reigns supreme over a cast of actors, singers, dancers and musicians whose dynamic ensemble work sets a breathless pace for this gripping poetic narrative.
