In the small village of Cherán, Mexico, villagers are disappearing and their sacred trees are being cut down. Timber traffickers are coming to help themselves, trampling the locals’ Purépecha traditions. A women-led resistance group decides to take matters into their own hands so that they do not lose their village or their culture.
