For his first solo performance, Hashem Hashem tells us a double story, that of the body in gender transition and that of the city, Beirut, in the midst of radical transformation. He explores the ever-changing essence of individual and collective identity in a restless physical space - body/city. Who are we when our personal traits and the heart of our city change? What is left of us? Perhaps this is where the astonishing revelation lies: cultivating the body in the city to allow possibilities to emerge.
