Paolo, a director, is in a foreign country to put on an autobiographical play which deals with his relationship with his father.
It is the opening night. His brother calls to summon him to the bedside of his dying father, but Paolo, in a state of shock, decides to stay to put the fi nishing touches to the production.
For him, the challenge of the public performance and this last rehearsal takes on new meaning: he is fi ghting it out with his father, and saying goodbye.
