When Uyghurs and Kazakhs are arbitrarily detained in "re-education camps" in China, survivors and their families risk everything to expose the truth. Jewher, a Uyghur teenager, arrives in the United States after being violently separated from her father at Beijing airport. Along with Abduweli, a linguist tortured for teaching the Uyghur language, they join other survivors around the world to denounce the atrocities and hope for international awareness.
