Dispak Dispac'h

Patricia Allio

22 > 24.01.2026
Theatre – Performance

Dispak Dispac’h, these two Breton words - Dispak: open, unfolded, and Dispac’h: agitation, revolt – inspire the creation of a form of theatre having four fronts, at the boundary between art and activism. An immersive, participatory experience, based on the indictment brought by the GISTI (Groupe d’information et de soutien des immigré·es - Migrant support and information group) to the Permanent Peoples’ Tribunal in 2018. This is a citizens’ court, where members of civil society can organise themselves as a resistance force opposing state-perpetrated violence.

Presented in Avignon in 2023, Dispak Dispac’h brings together autobiographical accounts and testimonies from militants or those claiming asylum. Taking full advantage of the spacious Halles de Schaerbeek, Patricia Allio transforms the stage into a meeting place, through which pass an actor and a dancer. A place of comfort and commitment is (re)built here, impelling us to imagine alternative possibilities.
