Guided tours

Twice a month, Maison Gertrude, an art center within a care home, opens its doors and invites you to discover its collection of artworks created in situ.

Maison Gertrude, an art center within a care home, was created and developed jointly by the Théâtre National Wallonie-Bruxelles, the CPAS of the City of Brussels, and the association Zirlib, led by artist Mohamed El Khatib. It was inaugurated on May 24, 2025. Located in the heart of the Marolles district, it houses a permanent collection of artworks created in situ — that is, within the residence itself, in close collaboration with the people who live and work there.

This collection is integrated into both private and communal spaces, transforming the care home into a new cultural venue and opening it up to the neighborhood and the wider city. The guided tour will take you through the corridors of the residence to discover works created by around ten artists at the heart of this unique environment.

The Maison Gertrude Art Center is open to the public for guided tours. Let yourself be guided by a resident, a staff member, or a mediator from the Théâtre National Wallonie-Bruxelles.
