Haïti – En bas la ville

photographic poetry
Laurent Gaudé, Gaël Turine

© Gaël Turine

Writer Laurent Gaudé and photographer Gaël Turine are offering an evening of photographic poetry which plunges the spectator into an auditory and visual Haitian experience.
A hybrid of literature and photography this perambulation guides us through the daily life of the inhabitants of Port-au-Prince. With over two million inhabitants, the capital of Haiti seethes between the scars left by the earthquake of 2010 and the constant political instability. The fresh perspective delivered by the two authors shows us the disenchanted reality of the first black republic and reveals its beauty and dignity.
