PROTOJE & The Indiggnation

The latest rising star of the Jamaican school, precursors and major players in the Reggae Revival, Protoje skilfully mixes dub, rock and socially aware reggae. In just eight years and three opuses, he hasn’t stopped recreating himself, shaking up the reggae world where he managed to carve a place at the top place. Thanks to brilliant collaborations (CHRONIXX, Ky-Mani Marley…) that stemmed in the creation of new reggae anthems for our era, PROTOJE’s frame broadly expanded on the international stage. On stage, the singer is backed by activist band The Indignation, in intent of remaining true to traditional live performances while shaking up the codes of new roots. His music expresses a political engagement that proved crucial when reggae emerged some decades ago. Come discover this fiery presence on stage at the Festival des Libertés.
