L’impossible neutralité

Jacques Delcuvellerie – Raven Ruëll – Groupov

01 > 03.03.2018

At the origin of this piece, a man, Raven, distraught by a photograph of a pic-nic. An Israeli family is dining « al fresco » to celebrate the expulsion of a Palestinian family from their home.

Obsessed by this photograph, Raven and Jacques poured themselves into dozens of books and witness statements.
The most horrifying of these are delivered by soldiers and Israeli Jews who are themselves shocked by the lack of humanity. As Europeans, what do we really know of this reality? Their rulers, their laws, their mandates and their acts remain unknown to us. When have we witnessed and heard the devastation and the lives of these minds and hearts?

On the stage, the man looking at the photograph attempts to voice the voiceless. He knows that in doing so he has a lot to lose, but how can he stay neutral in front of so much injustice and pain?
