La Cosa

Claudio Stellato

24.09.2017 · 19:30

First there is the scent of freshly chopped wood, sixteen hundred pieces of it, four steres of wood blocks and split logs. There are also four axes and four actors who are by turns woodcutters, performers, dancers and musicians. They are also the builders and destroyers of various temporary structures, arches or towers, as though they were playing “Jenga”, an ancient Swahili game which involves constructing, then deconstructing, a tower made with pieces of wood in a precarious balancing act.
