Opening up the stages to an explosion of creativity! Every year, amateurs and professionals share the stage to showcase the result of a joint artistic adventure.

Over several months, the Audience Engagement team of the Théâtre National organized meetings between the theatre’s own artists and schools and associations keen to create together. Each project is tailor-made, without preconceived ideas. The themes addressed come directly from the groups, led by professionals who share their skills rigorously but generously during workshops and rehearsals.

This patient, sensitive work, woven step by step with each partner, fully justifies the driving force that animates us: to bring audiences from all walks of life to the stage. For À la scène comme à la ville aims above all to reflect the diversity of Brussels: home to an abundance of languages and nationalities as well as ages and multiple stories.

À la scène comme à la ville is also the moment when this work behind the scenes steps into the spotlight. A vibrant celebration of diverse, daring forms that highlight the plurality of voices and imaginaries. A celebration of what can be created in a joyful atmosphere when we trust in everyone’s creative capacity.
