Les Midis de la poésie

Nomadic and multidisciplinary, Les Midis de la Poésie take over the prestigious places of Brussels culture, such as the Musées Royaux des Beaux-Arts, the Théâtre National Wallonie-Bruxelles, the Café Congo, the Théâtre des Martyrs, La Bellone, the Rideau...

Here, poetry should be taken in its broadest and most specific sense. It evokes what, in literature or in everyday life, is of the order of the poetic.

For fifty minutes over lunchtime, Les Midis de la Poésie approach themes that cross our time and literature from an original angle, through conferences, conversations and readings. Authors, directors and artists develop a literary question or one related to the creative process. They are accompanied by actors for the reading of the works discussed.

Les Midis de la Poésie is also a series of apéros, soirées, editions, writing workshops, the #poesielab and a collection of poetry books that can be consulted on demand.

In 2021, the Commune of Saint-Gilles selected the joint project Maison poème led by the Midis de la Poésie and FrancoFaune, to reinvest the former Théâtre Poème. A project built around emergence, at the crossroads of poetry and music, and above all a place of experimentation and work for artists.

La Maison poème is co-producer of a creation as part of the MAD-les Mots à défendre 2023 of the Théâtre National Wallonie-Bruxelles.
