An abbey in the Italian Alps on the French border. The peaceful daily life of Daniele the monk and Sophia the nun is shattered when on the nearby mountain a Vatican plane crashes with a delegation of bishops on board, taking along 2 young mountaineers, Klaus and Agota. On holiday for eternity, everyone heads for the picturesque monastery.
A story of atheistic and angry ghosts, not having planned to die so quickly who decide to stay on the side of the living, who in this case are already withdrawn from the world, their eyes on eternity.
What is it to die in the absence of faith? What is the feeling of the absurd, can we live without appeal? Despite everything, what if the monks were also afraid of death?
